Former Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
