The president's campaign focused heavily on his stability achievements in a perennially volatile nation.
"There was a systematic effort to influence the outcome," alleged rival figure Anicet Dologuélé.
He has encountered significant backlash since a constitutional referendum removed presidential limits, paving the way for his ongoing run for office.

More than 2.4 million people were enrolled for the 28 December presidential vote, which observers called mostly peaceful despite logistical delays.
According to provisional figures, the incumbent won seventy-six percent of the ballots.
- The president's closest challenger, former premier Anicet-Georges Dologuélé, garnered 15%.
- A further former premier, Henri-Marie Dondra, trailed with three percent.
