Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a significant and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
