The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.

The Incident

The striker was dropped from a European match following making accusations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”

The head coach has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” Jones added.

He also implied that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Team Form

The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not intended to cause disruption.
