President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the family of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the White House.

He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president informed reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Mourners came together over the weekend at the high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
