Travis Head Reached Out to Duckett Following Video Criticism
Head and Duckett have been on rival teams in the recent Ashes series.
Australian batter Travis Head has revealed that he made contact to England fellow opener Ben Duckett after a video emerged that seemed to depict the player in a inebriated state before the Melbourne Test.
Accounts indicated that players were drinking excessively during a time off in the coastal resort of Noosa in the gap between the second and third Tests.
One unconfirmed video sparked increased scrutiny on the team and on Duckett specifically.
"I get on with Ducky well reached out to see if he was doing okay," stated Head.
"Everyone is still people. Your actions in your personal time is up to you.
"I understand we live a very public life and certain individuals are more high profile than others.
"At the end of the day, it is a bit stiff but I don't think there is any major concern."
Background of the Situation
England's four nights in Noosa followed they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series after losses in Perth and Brisbane.
Multiple media outlets stated that some players were consuming alcohol for a large part of their time on the coastal break, in addition to on two earlier days in Brisbane.
Although they gave an improved performance in the next Test, they were defeated in Adelaide to surrender the series to Australia.
Head's Viewpoint
Commenting after the visiting team's win in the fourth Test, Head said: "I was jealous.
"Everyone has made a lot more out of it than what it should have been.
"We have done the same thing on past tours. I don't see an problem with it."
